once recorded, editing is key. use of sound effects, music and silence are key to create elements of tension and change the mood of the scene effectively.

pre production of film is the first step process of creating a film, ranging from script work to casting, hiring and more.
digital publishing is when smelting is taken and digitalised then published through the digital format.
example: newsletters, journals, blogs, advertisements, resource materials, books, texts/messages and video games.
film and digital publishing both use the same elements of pre-production which includes and initial idea

making a film and a game can be very time consuming.
both projects have a budget that they must conform to.
both must include a storyboard and a script so that there is a format to guide where the story is heading.
the three act structure is included. (beginning, middle and end).
hiring employees within the game industry is harder compared to the film industry due to the fact that they aren't as popular as film.
crews for gaming try their best to stay together due to the complexity of the job and being able to know the way around the job. whereas actors will go in their different directions.

give one key example of the work done during pre-production in the area of materials and evaluate its importance for the success and/or quality of the film as a whole. costumes  costumes are key to portraying a character within a production. if the costumes aren't right for the roles you need, it can give off the wrong kind of effect on the audience or viewers.  props  props are another good example, films such as doctor who are extremely dependant on props to be successful.

starter (budgeting in terms of casting)

how are films with different budgets cast differently? films with a higher budget are more likely to cast actors who are more qualified (A-list). some roles within films are written strictly for a specific actor. low budget films won't be able to afford to cast as many actors as a high budget film. some actors who are new might work for free as a way to get noticed by other producers and directors.
