Big budget
  • a larger crew which are experts within their field 
  • more money to spend on significant changes 
Medium budget
  • significantly scaled down crew
  • the crew will e experts in their field
Low budget
  • people in the crew will vary in experience
  • they will have some people with a degree of set experience
Micro budget
  • people may have to double or triple up on roles
  • limited 
producers first try to re-employ hired crew who have already been put through the test and who has been shown god time management and team building skills. secondly, they listen to recommendations. thirdly, they rely on recruitment agencies, production databases and crew CV's.

give one key example of the work done during pre-production in the area of materials and evaluate its importance for the success and/or quality of the film as a whole. costumes  costumes are key to portraying a character within a production. if the costumes aren't right for the roles you need, it can give off the wrong kind of effect on the audience or viewers.  props  props are another good example, films such as doctor who are extremely dependant on props to be successful.

how are films with different budgets cast differently? films with a higher budget are more likely to cast actors who are more qualified (A-list). some roles within films are written strictly for a specific actor. low budget films won't be able to afford to cast as many actors as a high budget film. some actors who are new might work for free as a way to get noticed by other producers and directors.
